Are You Worried About Toxins In The Body?
The trend in the wold today is that many people are moving towards more diets and ways of life that are environmentally friendly, organic, and all around “green.” While many may base their choices on various ideologies that may or may not be based on half truths among other things, some do deserve a closer look. One of these concerns today is over toxins in the body.
When someone says they are worried about toxins you may be thinking of poisons floating around the body which is not necessarily true. More so it is based on the way that food products are now produced in America and throughout the world there could be any number of things leftover even when the product makes it to your pantry. Today’s food production involves pesticides on vegetables, hormones and antibiotics in meat as well as various minerals and byproducts that could potentially build up in the body. The plastic containers you use could even be leaking chemicals into liquids and foods you store in them.
The next question is whether or not they have an effect on the person ingesting them. This should be addressed before we talk about eliminating toxins from the body. While some effects are well known scientifically the lack of research on many other chemicals is troublesome. For example artificial sweetener aspartame is known to metabolize into formaldehyde in the body concerning many people but not too much is known about how it effects the body when you ingest antibiotics still in chicken meat. Plastic containers made with BPA are known to leak into your food or liquid and have been linked to obesity as well as negative effects on memory, mood and learning abilities.
But what should you do if you are concerned about this? Many advocate various methods of how to cleanse your body of toxins such as a 3 day detox, a 7 day detox or any other of the like. While these are not entirely proven many feel benefits. A more proactive approach is to simply eliminate them from your diet and allow your body to naturally get rid of things. Eating organic vegetables, grass fed and organic meats, and simply paying attention before eating heavily processed food can make wonders in your life it just takes effort.
There are unknown things in the air and in your food everyday. This isn’t entirely a cause for alarm but should merit some though. Anecdotal evidence as well as scientific evidence supports theories of eating cleaner now more than ever. The key is simply to be mindful of your options and not rely on promises of a quickly getting rid of toxins in the body.
